EXTERIOR CONSIDERATIONS:
  • Siting – We positioned the home close to the north side yard to maximize southern exposure and create a reasonably flat side yard on the south side for recreating.  This also gave us a longer run for the driveway down to the garage.
  • Low maintenance materials: aluminum railing, facia, and soffit, concrete decking, James Hardie siding, Smart trims.
 
INTERIOR CONSIDERATIONS:
  • We wanted an open floor-plan with vaulted ceiling for that WOW factor. 
  • Kept the common space on the south side for maximum brightness throughout the day all year long.
 
BUDGET CONSIDERATIONS:
  • Spec Home.  We kept the architectural design simple to keep building cost down which allowed us to spend more on the finishes.
