EXTERIOR CONSIDERATIONS:
  • Corner Lot presented a limited building site but an opportunity for view windows and south windows throughout the great room.
  • Low maintenance materials: aluminum railing, facia and soffit, Sierra Stone decking, vinyl siding and Smart trims.
 
INTERIOR CONSIDERATIONS:
  • Small open floor-plan needed to be efficient with cohesive decor throughout
  • Door to dog run on side yard
  • TV components located in linen closet to keep fireplace design clean
  • Electrical fireplace chosen as a gas unit would quickly overheat the small space.
 
BUDGET CONSIDERATIONS:
  • Downsizing retirement home
  • 8’ ceilings throughout to keep build costs down
  • Deck located within roof of house.
  • Modest interior finishes
